Cooper's 5th Birthday

Cooper's birthday fell on a Sunday this year, and we had his party with all of his friends the day before.  Since Aunt Laura, Uncle Gino, and Ben were still in town, we decided to make Cooper's birthday a "Sunday Funday" so we could spend more time with them.

Cooper's birthday collage!  My last pregnancy picture, going home from the hospital, at one year old, 2 years old, 3 years old, 4 years old, and 5 years old!

He's changed quite a bit from that little huge baby!

We started the morning with opening his presents from Mommy, Daddy, and LL.  We always save our kids presents from us for their actual birthday (instead of their birthday party).

Cooper's birthday tradition?  We always go get birthday donuts!

The rest of us don't mind having an excuse to eat donuts, too.  :)

I took a few little IG story videos while we were at breakfast: Here are two videos (Video 1 and Video 2) talking to Cooper about his birthday.  This video is precious to me - all on his own he declared it the "best.  day.  ever!" in the middle of breakfast - so I had him do it again so I could record it.  It was so cute!

5 years old and so proud of it!

Cooper is all about some swimming this summer, so we spent the morning swimming at Gigi's with Ben - it doesn't get much better than that for Cooper!

Mom and Dad to a 5 year old and an 8 year old means we don't have to get in the pool if we don't want to!  Hello big kids, goodbye babies!

Sisters!

And an outtake with LL - haha.

I'm so glad we all got to spend the day together!

I just love this boy so much!  I am blessed to be his Mommy!

After swimming, we went home for lunch and naps.  That evening, we met up with our whole family (and some friends) for Cooper's birthday dinner.  This year, he picked to go to super-hero pizza (Mellow Mushroom) for dinner.

Finally a family picture with the birthday boy since LL missed the picture part of Cooper's party!

Both kids are love it so much when our whole family gets together.

These next two pictures are all candids, but they all show what dinner is like with 15 people!

Cooper got this turtle shell for his birthday and he wanted Daddy to wear it.  Luckily, Matt's Mom will still help him get dressed in his costumes - haha.

Friends like family!

Our whole family!

After dinner, LL left to spend the night with Gigi and Poppy, and we came home with Cooper.  Kayla and Andrew came over (with Koko) to hang out for a little while before bed time.

It was a pretty perfect day for Cooper!  We are so excited to have a 5 year old boy!

This place is so special! Speaking of special, this is how our evening went. I met my buddies in the downstairs part of event venues Chicago, which is more than just an average kind of bar with a lot of woodwork.
