Chick Pics 2013

Every year, Mrs. Becky and I take a trip to Tallahassee to see Cindy Strickland with "A Moment Captured" to do chick pics.  LL looks forwards to this SO MUCH and for sure will not let us forget that she wants to go see the chicks.

This year, I was really excited because Cooper was going, too.  Last year, I remember thinking the whole time "next year, there will be a little boy here with us!".  It was neat to see that actually come true and I LOVED seeing Cooper experience this for the first time.

I took TONS of time planning their Easter outfits, and I think Grammy did an AMAZING job.  They turned out PERFECT!  I mean, who doesn't love a baby boy with a bow tie??

Here they are!

My beautiful girl!

She is getting so big!!

We had such a good time!  I don't know when I think that they'll be too old to do this and we'll stop going.  But I can tell you that we will for sure be back next year!

Azalea Festival 2013

One thing that always lets me know that spring is on it's way is the Azalea Festival!!  Last year was our second year going, and it's something we've all been looking forward to doing this year.

This year, it was much trickier with a little baby.  The festival runs from 10-6.  Last year, we got there right at 10 and stayed until about 12:30.  This year, we fed Cooper at about 10:50, and then left the house.  We didn't get there until about 11:20, and then it took us almost 30 minutes to find a parking spot.  This was NOT good when we had to leave by 12:45 to get Cooper down for a nap.

Because we had so little time, we had to just stick with priorities.  Obviously, a pony ride was first on our list!

Goodness she has changed a bunch over the last 3 years!

Cooper just hung out (literally) with Mommy while LL rode the pony.  :)

Next, we went to see the tiger that they had there.  It was so cute -  LL walked right up to the fence and just "roared" at him over and over.  It actually irritated him a little and he almost roared back, but we left before he got too mad.

We ate lunch (gyros again!) and squeezed in a quick train ride with Gigi before we had to head to Grammy's for Cooper's nap.

We had a looooong walk back to our car, and Cooper ended up going down for nap SUPER late.  While he slept at Grammy's, we took LL to a birthday party.  It was another gymnastics party just like hers, and she had a BLAST.  She also LOVED the party favors that they gave out (princess ring, princess watch, princess wand, and party blower)

We got back from the party a little after Cooper woke up from his nap.  It was SUCH a beautiful day, so we headed outside to play for a little bit before heading home.

It's not the best, but I'll take what I can get.  :)

I'm sure next year will run much more smoothly since Cooper will only have 1 nap a day and we can go up there much earlier.  Even still, it was a great day with my little family!

Cooper's Pink Hat

At the end of January (I know - I'm behind) Cooper was REALLY fussy one afternoon.  I knew for sure that a stroller ride would cheer him up.  It was still pretty chilly outside (and we were at Grammy and Pop's), but the only hat we could find was an old one of LL's.

I put it on anyway because I knew he would enjoy being outside and - really - who cares??  I guess this is the life when you are the second kid and all anyone can find is your older sister's pink hat!

He didn't seem to mind.  :)

MeeMee

A little over a year ago, Matt's MeeMee moved to town from Tennessee.  It has been SO wonderful to have her in town, and I love that my kids get to grow up knowing their great-grandmother.

Recently, Grammy asked me to take some pictures of MeeMee for her 80th birthday, so I also snapped a few of her with the kids.  While these aren't perfect, I love them and know that Cooper and LL will appreciate them one day!!  We love our MeeMee!!

Cooper and Andrew

Matt and Clint have been friends for a loooong time.  When Matt and I started dating forever ago (about 11 1/2 years!!), I instantly liked Clint's girlfriend Sarah.  Over the last 11 1/2 years, we have all hung out a LOT, gone on a few trips together, had a million laughs, and really just grown.

Look at these super cute little boys!

With Clint's Dad at Clint and Sarah's rehearsal dinner.

When I found out I was pregnant with Cooper, I was SO excited when we found out that Sarah was pregnant, too!  Our due dates were about 6 weeks apart (mine first).  We were even more excited when we found out that we were both having boys.  Matt and Clint have been friends for SUCH a long time, and I know that this was probably really cool for them.  Once Cooper and Andrew were born, they ended up being about 7ish weeks apart - also neat because Matt and Clint are also about 6/7 weeks apart (Matt is older).

We went and saw Andrew in the hospital, and then again to take them food after they got home.  Life got BUSY for both of us (hello new babies, a preschooler, going back to work, holidays, and LIFE!) and we haven't seen them since Andrew was about 2 weeks old.

They came over a few weekends ago for dinner and it was so good to see them!!  It was so good to FINALLY see these boys together!

Cooper's new "smile" - don't you love??

They were both a little unsure of each other at first, but it got better.  :)

LOVE their faces here - priceless!

The boys!

Again - Coop's awesome new smile.

You can for sure tell which baby belongs to which Mommy!

Sarah made the super cute collages and sent them to me.  We've had a LOT of fun times together!

Hopefully now that the boys are getting a little older we can start seeing each other more frequently again!  I would love it if these boys would grow up as close as their Daddy's!
