Cheer Camp

After school got out, I still had a few days of post-planning left.  During those days, they hosted a Little Hornet Cheer Camp at the highschool for young girls.  It's a 1 1/2 day clinic with the highschool cheerleaders where they learn a few cheers.  At first, LL said she didn't want to do it.  Then, she found out her best friend Madeline was going to do it, so she changed her mind.  ;)

She didn't love it the first day.  And she said she didn't want to go back the second day.  But she ended up going back and having fun.  At the end of the second day, they put on a little performance for the parents.

Ready for her performance!

They had all the age groups divided up, and each group learned their own cheer.  The 6 year old group learned "Fire It Up".  I was actually impressed with what LL did!  Here's a video of her age group's cheer.

The next cheer they did was with all of the girls.  Here's a video of "Hornets Rock The House".

The last thing they did was their group dance to "Shake It Off".  Let me just say - bless her.  Here's a video of the dance.

My cheerleading girl!

Even though she didn't completely love it (and says she does not want to do it again next year), I'm proud of my girl for finishing her commitment and trying something new!

Last Day of Kindergarten!!

LL's last day of school this year was only a 1/2 day, so her class did their end of the year party the day before.  Thankfully, I was able to get away and go see her for her party!  The kids had an ice cream social (and ate their lunch in the classroom) and then Mrs. Allison had some presents for them - including a scrapbook for every child with pictures of them in all of their activities through the year!  It was awesome!

These girls had a great year together!

We officially made it to the last day of school!!!

Her last morning running off to the bus with her friend Kaya.  This is such a change from the girl at the beginning of the year that I had to hand off to the bus driver crying every morning.  She gained so much confidence this year!

Last twinsie picture for the year!

It was dark that morning before we left our house, so we did her last day of school pictures that afternoon.

She has grown so much this year!

Silly face break.  :)

Another silly face break.  :)

Love this one!

Comparison from the first day to the last day of kindergarten!!  My goodness!

Kindergarten is a WRAP!

LL's Field Trip to Rutland Farms

In the last few weeks of school, LL's school took the kindergartners on a field trip to Rutland Farms.  It's a place close to us that has a petting zoo, and a lot of you-pick farms.  They encouraged parents to come along on the field trip.  My school was having a field trip for 6th graders the same day (and I was one of the teachers who stayed behind with the kids who couldn't/didn't go), so I for sure couldn't take off to go with her.  Daddy to the rescue!  He was actually just as excited to go as she was and they both ended up having a blast.

He got there a little before the school buses did, so he was there waiting when she got there.  Of course she was glued to her best friend, Madeline, the whole time!

They went to the petting zoo, and I'm pretty sure that this was LL's favorite part.  Matt sent me this picture of a goat.  Notice anything weird?  He had no ears!  The guy that runs the place said that his mother abandoned him because of his birth defect, so now he went everywhere with the owner just like a dog.  He said he even rides in the truck with him!

The kids got a lesson on bees!

Bunnies!

The pig named Porkchop.

After the petting zoo, the kids all got to pick some strawberries.

I love these two!  I'm so glad they had a blast!

The ended the field trip with a tractor ride!

Waiting to feed the fish.

LL and Daddy both came away from the day saying how much fun it was and how much they loved it!
