Cooper - 16 Months Old!

Cooper was 15 months old (in his 16th month) from September 25 - October 24.  Here's what our handsome boy was up to:

Stats:
Weight: 27lbs
Clothes: Completely in 18 and 24 month clothes.  12 month clothes are officially too small for him.
Diaper: size 5
Shoes: 5 1/2 or 6 and WIDE!

Schedule:
Cooper is FINALLY down to only one nap a day.  He still sometimes gets fussy during what would have been his morning nap, but overall he's adjusted.  Now that he's only down to one nap, I'm loving the freedom that we have as a family!

7 am - up for the day!
7:45 - 8:00 - breakfast and milk sippy
10:00 - snack and water
11:45 - 12:00 - lunch and milk sippy
12:30 - 12:45ish - down for nap
3:00 - 3:30ish - up from nap
3:30 - snack and water
5:30 - dinner and milk sippy
Bath immediately after dinner
7:00 - 7:15 - bed time

Bed head!

Teeth:  Cooper's top molars finished coming all the way through this month.  His bottom molars haven't busted through yet, but they are soooo close.  They have made him pretty miserable this month and we are ready for them to be OUT!  They have made him pretty cranky, and he is drooling everywhere.  His tooth count is at 10, and I'm pretty sure it'll be at least at 12 by next month.

Walking: Cooper started walking last month and now it seems like he is a pro at it!!  He is doing fantastic at it and is just getting faster and faster.  He can't run yet, but he can move pretty quickly. He's also losing a lot of that "monster walk" where he holds his hands out or up to steady himself.  He's also a pro and bending down, squatting, etc.  I am enjoying him being able to walk so much.  I love it!

Talking:  Last month, Cooper only added one word to his vocabulary.  This month, he added three: eggs, Gigi, and night-night.  The really frustrating thing is that he'll learn a new word, say it a few times, and then refuse to say it anymore.  He said "eggs" for about 2 days and now we can't get him to say it again.  Same thing with "night-night".  He said it one night as clear as day (after I asked him to say it), but now he won't say it anymore.  He has said Gigi a good bit over this month, so at least he's hanging on to that!  His most often said word is for sure "Dada".  He says it pretty much all of the time.  He also started quacking for a duck this month when you asked him to.  He also started signing "more" this month - even on his own instead of just when we asked him to.  I love it!

Body Parts:  Cooper has been doing great with identifying body parts.  He knows where eyes are, but will only point to other people's - not his own.  He will point to his own belly (he actually points to his chest - haha), he will show his teeth if you ask him where they are, and he will touch his legs if you ask.

Vehicles:  I mentioned it a little bit last month, but over this past month, Coop has become obsessed with vehicles.  He loves to play with them and they are his favorite toys FOR SURE.  I took him to LL's gymnastics lesson one week (by myself!  FAIL!) and didn't pack him any cars or trucks.  Several other boys there were playing with their own cars or trucks and Cooper was NOT happy!  I spent the entire hour trying to keep him entertained and happy and not trying to take another boy's cars.  Needless to say, there will always be a car in the diaper bag from now on!

Sharing his pancake with his dump truck.

Clean up:  Cooper has started to help clean up this month.  When we sing the clean-up song, he knows what to do and will start putting toys in his basket.  He's pretty slow about it (he'll hold a toy and think about it for a looong time before he puts it in), but at least he's helping!  He will also "clean" his tray at Grammy and Pop's after he eats.  If you give him a wash cloth, he'll wipe it down when he's done.  Coop also loves to put things in and out of baskets, buckets, boxes, etc.  He'll spend forever putting things in, dumping  them out, and then putting them back in again.

On demand:  Cooper has started to do lots of things when you ask him to.  In addition to pointing to body parts, he will cough and clap when you ask him to.  I'm also trying to work on "say cheese!" to get a smile, but we're not quite there yet.

Sickness:  We've been quite a while without Coop getting sick (since this summer), so I should have known it was coming.  Randomly one night he puked pretty big, but we chalked it up to his acid reflux.  Then about 30 minutes later he started throwing up and it just kept getting worse.  We took him to a walk-in clinic and they gave him some meds to stop the vomiting.  He threw up a few more times that night, but has been fine ever since.  Thank God!

Independent:  Coop is still a very laid back baby, but he is now getting to be VERY independent!  He wants to do everything on his own and really doesn't like to be held anymore.  He has his own ideas about things and has places to go!  It's so neat to see him start to really figure out who he is instead of just being a tiny baby!

Misc:

Time for another hair cut!  Before...

After

STUD!

He is all boy and into everything!

Wiped out

They're building houses across the street from us.  He is obsessed with watching them!  Holding a truck and watching construction, of course.

Smooshing his face on the glass door at Grammy and Pop's.  :)

Celebrating Opa's birthday!

He still has trouble staying awake on the way home from church!  But I enjoyed the snuggles for a minute before I woke him up for lunch.  :)

16 months and rocking the FSU gear!  Go Noles!

Both kiddos at 16 months!

Sunday Funday

A few weekends ago, we had had a suuuuuper busy weekend.  We decided on Sunday to skip church (legit the first time other than sickness since before Cooper was born!) and stay home to spend some time together and get some chores done.  It ended up being a GORGEOUS day and we had just the best day as a family all together at home.  First up on the agenda...mowing the yard!  With an entire acre for a yard, it takes up a good bit of time for Matt to mow it.  It's not an easy task.  I took the kids out at the end of the job to let them take a few rides around.  Why do we need Wild Adventures tickets when we can ride the lawn mower for free??

Cooper LOVED it and wanted to just keep going and going and going.

Lorelai was actually super nervous about riding and didn't really want to do it.  After seeing Cooper do it, she couldn't be out done.  And, shocker, she had a blast.

We also planted a garden this year and finally had a watermelon that was ready to pick.  We're going to have to do some more research before next year because it still wasn't 100% ready even though it showed all of the "signs".

LL and Matt also found a teeny tiny lizard that they caught and put in the jar.  She named him "Lizard The Greater".  He was our pet for approximately 7 hours.

Before bed, we had to let Lizard The Greater go so that he could go find his family.

It wasn't anything special, but it's days like this that I love the most.  Just being at home with my family is some of the best days that we could have!

Donuts With Dads

This year at PAUMC, they had a "Donuts for Dad's" day.  They gave us about 2 weeks notice, and LL and Matt looked forward to it and talked about it non-stop for those two weeks!  They had donuts, crafts for the Daddies, and even some songs!  LL and Matt both had a blast, and I'm so happy that Matt is able and willing to do these things with her!

Disney - Day 4

We woke up on our last morning of our vacation ready to go!!  We had another fun filled day at the Magic Kingdom ahead!

Our plan was to hit everything that we felt like we missed on our first day at the Magic Kingdom.  First up: Aladdin's flying carpets!

Afterwards, I actually talked LL into doing Pirates of the Caribbean.  Which SUPER shocked me.  I thought for sure she wouldn't go.  She was VERY nervous (and once we got on she wanted to get off - haha.  NOT possible!).  But she really did great and hasn't had any bad (lasting) memories of it.  She loves to sing the "yo-ho" song now.

Ben's awesome pirate hook!  Argh!

After Pirates, Laura and Ben went to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad while LL and I took a snack break.  After her riding Splash Mountain two days before, and Pirates this day, I wasn't going to push her!

Churro time!!

Obviously we had to hit up It's A Small World again.  It's Lorelai's favorite!

This is what she looks like the entire time - haha.

We split up from Laura and Ben again for a little while.  I don't remember where they went, but we set out to do Belle's Story Time again.  The wait was about 45 minutes, so we skipped it and did Ariel again instead.  Much better, anyway!

After Ariel, we met back up with Laura and Ben for some lunch at the Pinocchio restaurant.

Who is ready for pizza?!

After lunch, we hit the tea cups.  My stomach was not doing so great, so I sat this one out and let Aunt Laura handle it.

LOVE!

Another favorite for everyone -the carousel!

By this point, we were all getting suuuuper hot and kind of over it. We headed over to Tomorrow Land in hopes of cooling down some.  We also ditched the stroller for a little while and I enjoyed walking hand-in-hand with two of my favorite kids in the world.

I convinced LL to go on Buzz and, despite this ADORABLE picture of her and Aunt Laura, she absolutely hated it - haha.

We set off to find a funnel cake for a snack (!!!) and accidentally stumbled upon Tiana.  She had *just* come out and was in this super weird location, so NO ONE was around.  We got right in to see her.  Ben charmed the mess out of her and got to give her a kiss AND get one in return!

Stud.

She was super sweet to LL, too.  Honestly, I think she was my favorite princess that we met.  She was just too too sweet and talked to them for a long time.  I loved it.

Our longest wait of the day was the 30ish minutes that we waited in line for Tinkerbelle.  It was supposed to be several fairies, but when we got back there, it was just Tinkerbelle.  We were bummed!

Tinkerbelle saw the kiss on Ben's cheek from Tiana and added another one on the other side.  He was the stud of the day, for sure!

I loved all of the fall Mickey's everywhere!

We got her ears hat on our last visit two years ago, so this time we added an ears "handband" to our collection.  She took forever to decide, but finally decided on pink sequins.

We made our way out of the park so that we could go back to the hotel and get ready for our reservations at The Rainforest Cafe.  Bye-bye Magic Kingdom!

Of course we had to stop and say hey to Sally on the way in.

We changed clothes, cooled down, and headed to Downtown Disney for dinner.  Isn't this adorable??  They stood there holding hands and watching the alligator for several minutes.

We got a pretty good table very close to the elephants.  LL was in HEAVEN!

After dinner we had to stop outside to take some pictures!

As we walked back to our room, we said goodnight and goodbye to all of the cars on the way.  Bye Radiator Springs!

Aunt Laura is to thank for this awesome pose that LL insisted on doing for the rest of the night.  ;)

Yay for an awesome trip to Disney World!!

Two exhausted Mommy's!

It was an absolutely perfect trip, and I'm so happy that LL and I got to spend this time with Aunt Laura and Ben!  We are so blessed to have family that we love so much and love to spend time with.  Here's to many more Disney vacations in our future!
