Family Fun Day

One Saturday we decided to have a "family fun day".  This consisted of running errands in town (Target, Hobby Lobby, etc.) and lunch and ice cream out!  It was so much fun!  I didn't take pictures of our errand running, but I did snap a few the rest of the time.  First up: lunch at Atlanta Bread Co!

Next: Cooper's first trip to The Mix!  Needless to say, he's a fan.  For sure.

He wouldn't even look up from his ice cream to take a picture.  Smart boy.

While these types of Saturdays are so simple, they are also some of my favorite.  Being out and about with just my family of 4 is just so fun to me.  We had a great time, and I can't wait to do it again soon!

Cooper's First Days of "School"

Since LL has started back at big school this year, Cooper is also back in "school" with Grammy.  For the first school year since he's been born, he is solo all day!  So far, he doesn't seem to be hating it.  ;)  Here's a look at what Cooper has been up to so far this school year:

He spent the day with Gigi one day and had a blast building towers.

He loves going on "field trips" - especially if they involve lunch.

He's been a big helper with yard work (which he LOVES).

He especially loves watering the yard.  ;)

He conked out on the way home one evening after dinner (with LL's monkey) because he has so much fun during the day!

He got to spend one morning at the tractor supply store (aka: Heaven).

He also has a current (HUGE) obsession with school busses.  It is also his favorite word.  A bus drive lives across the street from Grammy and Pop, and she stopped by one day to let Cooper see her bus! (or bul-bus as he calls them)

Daddy sent me this one one morning.  Evidentially he's learning how to hold Lovie - haha.

A dress-up day at Gigi's!

Outside + riding on something = best day ever.

Grammy made him a "bul-bus" shirt and he was in LOVE.

Gigi is working on his sense of patriotism.

Lunch at Wendy's.

Watching the yard workers.

Another lunch date out on the town with Gigi.

Another morning picture from Daddy.  Driving his tractor mostly naked with LL's sunglasses.  I'll admit - this one made me laugh out loud for real.

We are so blessed to have family who loves our children and will keep them for us during the school year.  Obviously Cooper is in Heaven!  It makes it so much easier for me to leave every morning knowing that he is going to have a blast that day.

First Days of School

After so much anxiety about kindergarten this summer, it was so nice for school to actually start and for a lot of that anxiety to go away.  Another great aspect of school starting was that I get to spend so much more time with LL during the week than I used to.  She rides with me to school every morning and then rides a bus from my school to her school (about 5 miles away).  Then in the afternoon she gets on a bus at her school and gets off at my school.  She hangs out with me while I finish up my day, and then we head home together in the afternoon.  I love it!

Here are some pictures from our first few days of school!

Waiting for the bus on day 2!

Twinsies!

She came home one day with a fun froot-loop necklace!

The math teacher next door to me has a daughter in pre-k.  She and LL ride the bus together every morning and afternoon, and they play together in the afternoon before it's time to go home.  Kaya is one of LL's best friends!  And despite the size difference, they are only a year apart.  ;)  Kaya is just on the lowest percentile of the height range while LL is at the top - haha.

LL and Kaya headed to school one morning (Kaya was fine!).

Waiting for the bus one morning.

What's better than being twins?  Being triplets with Mrs. Kayla!

Cutest outfit ever?  Possibly.

I'm sure you'll be seeing plenty more posts like this as the school year goes on!

LL's Kindergarten Dinner

A few weeks before school started, Grammy asked me about throwing a "Kindergarten Dinner" for LL to celebrate her starting school.  She had a lot of anxiety issues this summer leading up to the start of kindergarten, so we were trying to think of as many positive things as we could to surround her first day of school.  Because of some prior stuff planned, we ended up having to throw the party on the weekend after her first day of school.  This actually worked out best because school had already started, she already knew what it was like, and she wasn't nearly as anxious as she would have been if we had done it the weekend before.

We picked up some primary colored balloons for decoration.

Grammy made this cute banner with her picture from the first day of school.

LL picked out the colors for and helped decorate the cake and the cupcakes.  ;)

LL got a Frozen balloon for her seat at the table, and Cooper got a multi-colored one for his.

She was so excited about flowers just for her!

Our kindergarten girl!

I put out these pictures (and the handprint puzzle) that her teacher sent home from the first few days of school.

We had a fun time celebrating such a big step in LL's life, and LL had so much fun with all of her family around.  Big thanks to Grammy and Pop for throwing her such a great celebration!
