Spring Break 2016 - Part 1

Me and both of the kids had the same Spring Break this year which happened last week.  I can not even begin to tell you how much I was looking forward to this break with my babies!  We had rain predicted for most of the break (and it did rain a ton), but we also decided to fit in as much fun as we could (while still balancing being at home, too).  I like to go and do lots of fun things with the kids, but I also like to be at home for nap time and dinner every day.  This year, I would say that we had a fantastic balance of that!  We had a very fun-filled week, so I've split it up into two posts so that it isn't crazy long.  Here's what happened during the first half of our week:

Friday
Every teacher will tell you that Spring Break begins as soon as the last bell rings on Friday afternoon!  So that's when my Spring Break officially started!!  To kick it off?  New hair!  I was long overdue for a cut and color.  It turned out amazing and I'm so happy with it!

LL kicked off her Spring Break by spending the night with Grammy and Pop, so it was just me, Daddy, and Cooper at home.  While I got my hair done, the boys picked up dinner out and ate terrible food together.  ;)

Saturday
We signed Cooper up for tball this year!  I have been looking forward to it so much!  Cooper just has so much energy, and I really think that he is going to be one of those kids that just thrives when they are in sports, and they have an outlet for some of that energy.  We told him about it, and he seemed excited, too!  Saturday morning Matt and I took him out and about for some one-on-one time, and we went and picked out his tball glove!

We headed back home for lunch and naps.  Afterwards, we went to go pick LL up from Grammy and Pop's and we stayed to dye Easter eggs with them!

Sunday
Sunday we spent the whole day as a family and celebrated Easter.  You can see my post all about our Easter HERE.

Monday
It wasn't my favorite, but we kicked off our first official day of Spring Break with lots of errands.  First up was our last check-up visit at the orthopedist to check on LL's ankle.  They took x-rays and officially cleared her from wearing her boot!  He said her ankle looks great and she is fine to resume normal activities!

Cooper was at Gigi's while I took LL to the doctor.  After her appointment, I dropped her off with Gigi and met Matt in town for a quick lunch-date.  I was back at Gigi's in time to put Cooper down for his nap.  Then, about an hour after he fell asleep, I left both kids at Gigi's and headed to the grocery store.  Usually we stop by the grocery store every Sunday after church.  Since the day before was Easter, that didn't happen.  Matt went and picked up the kids from Gigi's, and we all met back up at home.  I unloaded the groceries and got dinner going, and then I had to leave to go to a board meeting at my school.  We officially have a new principal voted in for next year!

After my board meeting, I came back home, picked everyone up, and we headed out to Cooper's first tball practice (it was a busy day)!

Ready for his first practice!

His first practice was supposed to just be a meet-and-greet since it had been raining so much and the fields were wet.  When we got there, they weren't as bad as expected, so the kids actually got a little practice in.  This girl and I hung out while the boys did all of the work.  :)

Daddy showing Cooper how to swing his bat and hit the ball.  Here's a video of him practicing.

Tuesday
Tuesday we had a super fun day planned!  Me and the kids have season passes to our local amusement park (and so do several of our friends), so we met Meghan and Luke up there for a few hours of fun!

Random, but LL loves sloths (well - really she loves all animals), and she was very excited that they had a sloth out when we first walked in!

My brave girl!  She really just amazes me!  If it has to do with animals, she is so brave and so excited.  She held this snake with no hesitation at all!  Cooper, however, did not want to hold the snake - haha.

He was happy to pet a baby alligator, though!

I didn't take a ton of pictures while we were riding rides, but I did take some while we were waiting for the Dizzy Dragons to start.  Both of my kids love Mrs. Meghan and Luke!

Sweet boys!  They promised to not go too crazy and spin us too fast.  ;)

But then they did anyway - haha.  I just love their faces!

When do kids outgrow a carousel?  I don't know!  LL is 7 and still loves it!

Three of my favorite kids!

I'll be honest, one of my favorite "rides" is to slide down this huge slide with the kids.  This is me, Cooper, and LL.

LL won!

I don't really know how it happened, but somehow we ended up riding the Ferris Wheel.  And we got split up and couldn't all ride in the same cart.  I am not a fan of heights and it was all I could do to keep my cool during this!  LL was a trooper and sat on one side by herself so that I could hold on to Cooper with both hands - haha.

Initially, all three kids wanted to ride this ride.  I had to go to so that I could hold on to Cooper and make sure he didn't fall out - haha. (are you noticing a theme??).  Well, after we got on, LL and Luke backed out!  So they stood and watched while Cooper and I rode.

The scarier the ride, the happier he is!  If you look closely, you can see my death grip on his arm.

Finally one Mommy doesn't have to ride. ;)  Here's a random video from another ride at the park that the kids love.  I love how Cooper says his tummy hurts (he is talking about that feeling when your stomach drops on a ride - haha).

They added a new dinosaur area to the park, so we had to check it out for the first time!  Anymore Gilmore Girl's fans?  Here's Luke and Lorelai.  ;)

Hatchlings!

That's the FUN first part of our Spring Break!  The rest of our adventures will be up tomorrow!
