Summer: Week 5

Week 5 of our summer vacation was from June 18 - 24!

Monday:
We had some people coming to the house on Monday to do some air conditioner work, so the kids went to Grammy and Pop's to play (since the a/c would be turned off for hours!).  While they played, I stayed at home with the a/c guys.

That afternoon, I stopped for a treat on the way to Gigi's house.  We had our old bedroom suite over there, and some people were coming to pick it up (I sold it online).  I tried the ultimate caramel frappichino - but I didn't love it.  It was still to coffee tasting to me - haha.

I ordered the kids some summer workbooks to complete this summer, and they actually really love them!

After dinner we all went outside, and the kids played while Matt and I did some yard work.  One of the weirdest things about this house is that there is too much pine straw in every flower bed.  Like it's so thick that there is mold growing under it.  Slowly we're starting to pull it all out and shape up the bushes (that haven't been touched in years).

Tuesday:
Tuesday was my first "work day" at my new school.  I met my fellow ELA teachers up at the school to talk about our curriculum for next year.  While I was at school, the kids went to swim at Gigi's with some family that was in town!

We did some more yard work after dinner and got a trailer full of waste!  This isn't even close to all of what we need to get rid of in the yard.

Wednesday:
We have been having a time with IKEA and a new couch that we ordered through their website.  It has been a long, frustrating battle.  Finally, we just cancelled the whole order, and Matt and Poppy drove down to Jacksonville to just pick it up themselves.

While Matt was gone to Jacksonville, the kids and I just had a day of hanging out and running errands.  We went to the gym, we went out to lunch with Gigi, we swam.  Just a lot of this and that!  I did go pick up Gigi's dog from the groomer and I drove my mom's car.  She has a car seat specifically for the dog, and it just cracked me up.

Around dinner time Matt and Poppy got back with the couch.  Goodbye old couch!

And then the drama with the couch continued.  Ugh.  It was the wrong size slip cover for the couch we got!

Thursday:
We had a fun morning planned for pool time with friends!

We headed to a nearby town to go swimming with some of our friends.  Cooper and Andrew are only 6 weeks apart and have a great time together!

Their pool is so awesome.  The kids love it!

They just had their third baby about 2 months ago.  I'm telling you - I am in Heaven with all of my friends having these sweet, snuggly babies!

We came inside for a little while after swimming and both kids wanted to hold Baby Isaac!

That evening after dinner, we all loaded up to go get some ice cream!

On our nightly walk, Cooper found a pretty cooked snake.

Friday:
Friday was a pretty frustrating day.  I went to the gym to work out, but the kids area was closed when we got there.  So I decided to run some errands for Cooper's birthday party instead, and this happened:

My sweet mom drove all the way back to Jacksonville on Thursday to get the correct cover for our new couch, so we finally got it all put together.  It looks great!!

LL and I love summer when all of the Ranier cherries are in season!

Saturday:
Saturday morning we kicked off the day with Cooper's 6th birthday party!  You can read all about it here!

This is real life after a birthday party.  Parents asleep, kids playing - haha.

That night for dinner, we all loaded up and went to a new Mexican place in town.  The food is awesome!  Even the kids love it!

Gino did a good job of getting a picture of everyone while we were at dinner.  :)

Sunday:
Cooper was running a low-grade fever, so we stayed home from church just in case.  I did get in my car at one point, and this temp was not cool!

He found his bandana from the cruise and wanted to be a pirate - haha.

Before Matt and I went to bed, we got all of Cooper's birthday presents set up for when he woke up in the morning!
