September Randoms

Whew - September was a blur!  Thankfully, I didn't have much to blog about because I surely would be behind!  Hopefully I'll be able to stay on track more during October.  The first few months of school kick my butt with getting back on a schedule with things!  Here are all of the random things that we were up to in September that didn't fit into a post of their own:

Cooper's had backwards day at school to celebrate "B" week!  He loved it!

We've been taking the kids to the Home Depot kids workshops whenever we don't have something else planned.  It's such a great activity - it's age appropriate for both kids (that doesn't always happy), it's gender appropriate for both kids (also doesn't always happen), it's free, and it's usually not very crowded.  It's a win all around!

We finally decided on a paint color to color the interior of our house, so we went by to get a gallon after the workshop was over.  The pain person was very nice and even asked the kids if they wanted to come around and watch!

You gotta play with the Halloween decor while you're there, right??

Finally!

After painting our first (huge) wall, it was time for football.  Asyn felt about it about like I did - haha.

Is anyone else tired of their summer wardrobe?  I feel like I've worn it all a million times since last March - bring on the cooler weather!

If you don't get the awesomeness of what Cooper's shirt is and why it's amazing that he's wearing it, we can't be friends.  ;)

After church is over, I always go get Cooper (downstairs), and Matt always goes to get LL (upstairs).  This week, I ended up getting Cooper before Matt had gone upstairs to get LL.  Cooper was pumped to get to go up there with Matt to get her.  He can't wait to turn 6 so that he can move upstairs, too!

We've decided to put our house on the market this spring, so we're working pretty hard to get it ready.  One of the things we decided to do was to get rid of our chickens.  It really cleaned up our yard to get rid of them and the coup, and it's just plain nice to have 7 less mouths to feed at the Mullican house.  While Matt loaded the coup up in the trailer (we sold the chickens and coup to one person - and they are very happy at their new home), we all said our last goodbyes!

Last fresh egg!

Then the kids decided they would much rather swim than play with chickens - haha.

Matt went to pick up Cooper one afternoon and found him outside with his helmet on, with his bug net, playing with the sprinkler - haha.

We had Book Club this month for The Glass Castle.  We met up to watch the movie first and then went out to dinner to discuss the book vs. movie.

I found out at the movie that this girl has been keeping a secret!

While I was at Book Club, the kids were with Grammy and Pop picking out new bikes!

We didn't get Aspyn until she was 8 months old, and she was not raised around kids prior to us getting her.  But let me tell you - she has such a heart for these kids and is so so sweet to them.

Reading to my kids is one of my favorite things to do.  I hope that I pass on my love of reading to them!

I had to go to a workshop one day - and this is how I felt by the afternoon session - haha.  Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Someone last month suggested I post links to my clothes, so here goes nothing!  Shirt - Stitchfix last year, pants - gap, shoes - Target

Lovie doesn't come out to snuggle much (she spends most of her time sleeping in our closet), so we're all pretty surprised when she does!

Cooper loooooves some Waffle House!

My boy is getting so big!

My best friend is cooler than your best friend - look at how she dressed her son for "celebrity day" during Homecoming Week!

We went to a birthday party for one of LL's school friends, and Cooper loved this digger!

My favorite human.

Cooper wanted to take a picture - and he did a great job!

My sweet boys washing my car for me!

LL and I had Homecoming Week this month - Monday was 'Merica Monday!

Random fact: Cooper loves to bake.  He says he wants to be a chef when he grows up!

Tuesday was Decade Day/wear neon day

Precious - sleeping with a toy in his hand at Gigi's.

Cooper was so happy that Gigi picked him up from school one day!

Wednesday was So Long, Summer day!

Thursday was Super Hero day!

My crazy boys!

I'm still on my goal to read 100 books this year (no, I won't make it), and here are the books I read this month:
The Glass Castle - honestly, I didn't enjoy the book or the movie!  I wouldn't spend time reading this one!

Crazy, Rich Asians came soooo recommended, but I didn't love it.  It wasn't terrible, but it was very long and had a ton of characters.

I always love James Patterson, and I'm currently working my way through the Michael Bennett series.

Same Beach, Next Year was another one that I didn't love.  Again, it wasn't terrible, but I felt like the writing was very juvenile and it had a predictable plot.

Somehow I didn't take a picture of #55 but it was The Identicals.  It was actually really good and I enjoyed the whole thing!

The Light We Lost was another Book Club book but also one I had on my list to read.  Again, I wasn't over the moon for this one, but it wasn't terrible either.  Just "eh".

That's a wrap for September!  Bring on Fall and October and my favorite time of year!
