Panama City - Day 2

If you missed day 1 of our trip to PCB, you can read all about it here!

One thing that I had forgotten about from our trip to Panama City last year is that they are an hour behind us.  For the most part, this doesn't really effect us anymore - except for one area: morning time.  Cooper is an early riser, so you put a time change in there and it becomes almost miserable.  He was up around 4:50 every morning!

Our first morning there, I got up with him while everyone else was asleep (except Gino who got up early to go for a run).  Ben was the next one up, and these two enjoyed breakfast and a game on the ipad together.  :)

Once Matt got up, I went to the grocery store for a quick run on some things we would need.  I made it back by 7:30, and we hit the beach!

I really miss seeing my sister as much as I did last year when she was living in town.

Being at one of my favorite places with my favorite person - life just doesn't get much better than this!

I was talking to Laura about this while we were there - I just love the beach for the simple fact that the kids just play.  They don't need to be entertained, there's no electronics, there are barely any toys, they don't ask the adults to entertain them - it's just nature and their imaginations!  I love it!

Matt found a little hermit crab for LL!

Matt also used his casting net to catch some bait fish.  They put them in buckets of water and the kids had a blast playing with them!

Cooper is more cautious of animals than LL is, so I was surprised when he was holding the fish!

Animals everywhere - haha.  The plus side of being the only ones on the beach is you can feed the seagulls!

Gino brought his drone on the trip and got so many good pictures and videos.  This video here is my absolute favorite from the trip.  It's short and sweet, but just so so cute to me.

This is also a good one that is made up of several clips from the trip (the part on the balcony makes me laugh - you can see my awesome dance moves)

We came in from the beach for lunch, and we decided it might be best for Cooper to try and nap.  He insisted that he wasn't tired, but this happened about 7 minutes after laying down.  ;)

This whole trip is for Ben's birthday.  His actual birthday isn't until August 10, but he picks a day to celebrate his birthday on the trip.  This day was his birthday day!  For dinner, he chose to go to Red Robin!

He also asked me to make him a pound cake for his birthday (and I was more than happy to do it!).  After dinner, we went back to the house for cake and presents!

Thumbs up for yummy cake!

This was also the night that we let the kids stay up late and go to the beach for sunset.

The kids played while Matt tried to catch bait so the kids could fish.  He couldn't get any, but the kids still had fun playing in the water.

This is her happy place!

I'm pretty sure this is his happy place, too.  ;)

My sister is just absolutely stunning!

My three favorite kids on the planet!

That night after the kids went to bed, I started book #45 for the year.  I'm not going to make it to 100, but I'm going to get as close as I can!

That's all for day 2 at the beach!
