Weekend Recap: MLK Edition

This weekend was a three-day weekend, which is exactly how we like them!  Here's what we were up to:

Friday

Friday morning this girl and I were ahead of the game and made it to school about 2 minutes early!

We took the "casual Friday" approach to Cooper's outfit for school on Friday.  :)

Cooper has been at Gigi's all week because Matt's dad is recovering from surgery.  Gigi has this huge tractor in her backyard, and Cooper was in Heaven getting to "ride" on it!

Friday night, I met Emily and Katie for a "fancy dinner".  Usually our Girl's Night Out(s) are super casual, so it was fun to change it up some!

Saturday

Saturday we had absolutely no plans at all and it was glorious!  We spent the morning playing outside (the kids and Matt) and cleaning and doing laundry (me).  While they were outside, Matt was cleaning up around some areas at the back of our property, and he sent me this picture:

Ummm...NO!  I told him that it was too bad, but the only solution was that we were going to have to burn our house down.

After naps on Saturday, we went to a pretty canopy road that's right down from us.  I haven't busted out the good camera in a while to take some pictures of the kids, and it was a beautiful day on Saturday to get some.

Sneak peak!

Sunday

We kicked off Sunday our favorite way - church!

This girl is just getting so big!  I can't believe she'll be 8 in a few weeks!

We get home from church pretty early since we go to the first service (we get home about 11), so the kids begged for some more outside time.  They played for about an hour and then requested to have lunch outside, too!

Monday

We were all off on Monday, so we fit in some fun!  We met Gigi at the park at about 10:00 to give the kids (more!) outside time.  They loved running around, and LL practiced her monkey-bar skills (she's getting better!).  After the park, we met some friends at Chick-Fil-A for some more playing and lunch!  Hey - 2 out of 7 looking and smiling isn't bad, right??

When we got home from CFA, we had a fun surprise waiting on us - our Hello Fresh! box!  I found a super good coupon online, so we were able to try it out for super cheap.

I cooked the first meal on Monday night, and I love how it came with everything!  Our first meal was a Lemony Shrimp Risotto.

It didn't end up being my fav (it had waaaay too much onion for my liking), but it wasn't terrible and it was fun to try something new!

It was a very low-key weekend with hardly any plans, which was wonderful.  We have two more pretty low-key weekends, but then our February is packed.  We are enjoying the calm while we can!
