Cooper's 4th Birthday Letter from Daddy

Cooper,

Mommy only lets me post on her blog twice a year and it’s for you and your sister’s birthdays. That makes you guys pretty important huh? I can’t believe that it’s time to write another post for you. You’re the big 4 now! That means you’re not a baby or a toddler anymore; you’re a big boy. Not only are you a big boy, you’re a huge kid. You stand head and shoulders over your friends and classmates. I don’t know exactly where you got it from since your mom and I are both the shortest in the family. I can only imagine that you’re going to be taller than me.

I’m so proud of how much you’ve grown this past year. Your speech has come so far and you’ve finally licked this whole potty training thing. The thing I think I’m most proud of though is how you’ve started making good friends. The kids in your class all love you so much and so do the kids at church and on your t-ball team. You’re also a great little brother. Yes, you and LL fight like Aspyn and Lovie (cats and dogs) but you also love and take care of each other more than Uncle Bryan and I did. You have fallen in love with superheroes this year and so have I. I never got into superheroes as a kid, except for batman, but now I love the Avengers just as much as you do. I love to be Hulk and pretend to smash while you’re Thor calling down lightning with Mjolnir.

So Cooper if this year is half as good as the last year was then it’s going to be awesome! I can’t wait for more fishing and hunting trips. I can’t wait for another t-ball season and swimming. You have added so much fun to our family and we’re blessed to have you in it. You make me want to be the best daddy that I can be and you make me want to be a better Christian so I can show you the true love of a father. I love you son; more than you’ll ever know. Happy birthday!

Daddy
