LL's 7th Birthday Letter from Daddy

Lorelai,

There's an old saying that goes "time flies when you're having fun". Well little girl that time needs to slow down. This is my seventh birthday letter to you and it feels like just yesterday I was writing the first one. It's so true that time goes by so fast and even more true that we're having fun.

You make our lives so much more fun with your wit, your humor, and your excitement for life. I don't know what we would do without you in our lives. I'm having so much fun watching you grow into a beautiful little lady who loves to get dolled up and doted on by your mommy but still likes to go hunting and fishing with me.

I'm so proud of how you're doing in school. You're a straight A student and you're working hard. I never took school very seriously and my hope is that you continue to do well. I love watching your friendships grow and seeing people attracted to your glowing personality. You've got great friends and I can already see you making the kind of relationships that can last a lifetime. I became friends with Mr Clint about this time in my life and we are still best friends. I would love for you to have that with Madelyn.

I want you to know that you are mommy and daddy's treasure. We love you and adore spending time with you. Lately you've been asking questions about Jesus, heaven, and baptism. I've been praying for this for a long time. I pray that as you figure out what it means to be a Christian I will be right there guiding you in what it means to have a relationship with Jesus.

You are challenging me to be a better father, and leader and I won't let you down. I love you with all of my heart.
