Girl's Night

I had been talking with my friend Kayla for a while about having a girl's night one weekend.  We are both teachers, and this is a stressful time of year, and we needed some good girl time!  We planned it for one Friday night in March.  I was reminding Matt about it one night at dinner (because he would be on kid duty) when LL asked me what I was talking about.  I told her that Mrs. Kayla and I were having a girl's night, and LL quickly reminded me that she was a girl and promptly invited herself.  Luckily, she and Mrs. Kayla love each other a ton, so I knew it wouldn't be a problem for her to come along.

First up - manicures!  I explained all of this process to LL (who had never been to a nail salon before) before we came.  I also told her that if she wanted to participate in the girl's night, she had to do this part, too.  She wasn't going to be allowed to just sit and wait.  After days of talking about it, she finally decided that she was super excited about it!

Ready for a manicure!

LL picked out her own color (blue - duh; her favorite color), and the nail lady put a flower on her thumbs and zebra stripes on everything else.  LL initially wanted an entire cheetah on her finger nail, but I had to explain that it wouldn't fit - haha.  They only charged me $6 for LL's nails - she'll be coming back with me for sure.  She loved it!

Waiting for Mrs. Kayla to finish.

LL did perfect.  We were there for around an hour, and she sat patiently and waited when it wasn't her turn.  When it was her turn, she never fussed at all about what the nail lady was doing (trimming and filing her nails).  I was so proud of her!

With Mrs. Kayla

After getting our nails done, we headed to Wooden Nickel.  A fav for me and LL and a first for Mrs. Kayla!  LL insisted on sitting next to Mrs. Kayla.

All of our pretty nails.

LL wanted us to take a picture of our thumbs even though Mrs. Kayla and I didn't have any designs - haha.

After dinner, Mrs. Kayla came back to our house with us, and LL put on her Frozen dress for her before she went to bed.  After bed, I think Kayla stayed until almost midnight talking and goofing off with me and Matt.

LL and I both really had the best time.  We'll have to do this again soon!
