LL's 3rd Trip to the Dentist

One year ago, I took LL for her first trip to the dentist.  Overall, it went so much better than I expected.  This past April, I took her for her second visit.  I don't know what happened between the two visits, but the second visit did not go well.  And by that, I mean that it took two of us to hold her down and there was lots of screaming involved.  Winning.

For the past six months, we have been doing a lot of talking about the dentist.  We bought an electric toothbrush for her to get used to how it feels.  We practiced opening our mouths and letting me feel around a little bit.  We flossed all the time.  And we talked and talked and talked.  Thankfully, all of this paid off and the visit went so much better!

Ready to go!

Brave girl!!!

The only part that did not go well was the only part that I did not prepare her for: x-rays.  I didn't prepare her for it for two reasons: 1- I didn't know if they were going to do them, and 2- how do you explain the picture of  your teeth thing??  There was a good bit of crying involved in that part, but I really couldn't blame her at all - I had told her nothing about it.  Thankfully, she won't have to get x-rays at her next appointment, so it'll be a year before we have to do that again.
