Cooper - 18 Months Old!

My sweet, handsome boy turned 18 months on Christmas Day!  Happy half-birthday, big boy!  I can't believe that we are on the down-hill slope towards two years old now.  Cooper was 17 months old (in his 18th month) from November 25 - December 24.  Here's what he was up to:

Stats:
Weight: 28 lbs (weighed on Christmas Eve at the ER - yay.  Post to come)
Clothes: 18 and 24 months, but some of the 18 month stuff is getting too little.
Diapers: Size 5
Shoes: 5 1/2 or 6 WIDE!

Schedule:  His schedule is the same as last month:
7 am - up for the day!
7:45 - 8:00 - breakfast and milk sippy
10:00 - snack and water
11:45 - 12:00 - lunch and milk sippy
12:30 - 12:45ish - down for nap
3:00 - 3:30ish - up from nap
3:30 - snack and water
5:30 - dinner and milk sippy
Bath immediately after dinner
7:00 - 7:15 - bed time

Teeth: I really thought he might get some more teeth this month since he's been chewing on his fingers and drooling like crazy, but we haven't seen any yet.  He still has his 4 canines and 4 2-year molars to go.  Hopefully we can get some of those over with this month!

Talking: While he is still not a big talker, he did add some words in this month.  He will say "Yi-yi" for "Lorelai" and "snack".  I guess the biggest improvement in this area is that he is starting to repeat more words when we ask him to.  He will now say "mama", "dada", and "yiyi" when we ask him to.  Up until now, he would only repeat something if he felt like it.  Now, he'll do it pretty much all of the time.  Now we just need to work on getting him to repeat other words, too.

Your Baby Can Read:  This is a new current obsession for Coop.  For his entire life, he has pretty much had zero interest in TV.  Which is not a big deal.  This month, I pulled out all of our Your Baby Can Read videos and put one in.  He LOVES them.  He has been getting to watch it in the evenings after bath and I think it's one of his favorite parts of the day.  He has started to grab the remote and bring it to us when he wants to watch it - it's pretty adorable.  I guess if there's something for him to want to watch, this is one of the best options.

Snack time and YBCR (ignore LL's play clothes - haha)

I'm telling you - kid ZONES OUT!

Body Parts:  Coming in to this month, Coop already knew eyes, teeth, belly, hair, and legs.  This month, he's learned head (super similar to hair), nose, belly button, and feet.  He LOVES finding his head and will often just walk around patting it.  SUPER cute.  He will also help us wash his hair in the bath tub, comb his hair if we give him something, and he'll grab his hair gel and walk it to us while rubbing his head.

Smiling/Say Cheese:  I've been trying to work with Cooper on smiling on demand.  It's not really a good strategy to tell your kid to "say cheese" to make them smile when, duh, he doesn't say cheese.  But we having been working on it and he'll do it about 40% of the time now.

Climbing:  Let me tell you - we are in TROUBLE.  This boy is into climbing everything.  If we take our eyes off of him for a second, he will find something to climb.  On top of presents under the tree.  On the couch.  The dinning room chairs.  The toilet.  His highchair.  Everything!  We are in for some trouble!

After dinner one night, he climbed up in the chair, got some water off the table, and was eating the ice - all in a matter of about 1 minute.

Going UNDER his crib.

Outside: This month, by far his favorite thing to do is to go outside.  I think he would never come inside if we didn't have to make him.  He just loves it so much.  I hate that it's getting colder outside because it means that he has to spend less time outdoors.

Misc:

Getting some work done on Daddy's work phone.  :)

Gotta love cookies at Publix!

He LOVES these blocks right now and is in heaven if someone helps him build a big tower.  We need to get him some more because they are mega tearing up (as you can see by the pieces on the floor).

Cooper got these as a party favor from Britt's birthday and he LOVES them.  He thinks it hilarious when he puts them on!

Sitting on a tractor watching Cars.  ;)

Holding hands in the car.  Melt my heart.

Sticking out his tongue!  It's awesome to see since he NEVER does it and hopefully it'll stretch out his tongue-tie.

Daddy came home with some Ninja Turtle pajamas.

Both of my sweet babies at 18 months!
