Painting the Shed

One thing that our house is pretty short on is storage.  Even though it has more space than our last house, we seem to fill up every inch of it!  We have 3 bedrooms in our house and until now, it's been our bedroom, LL's room, and then an office/guest room/catch-all room.  Obviously we've had to clean out that last room to make space for Baby C!  This means that we've had to find a home for a TON of other stuff.  When it came down to it, we just didn't have the space.  Matt has been talking about getting a storage shed for outside for a LONG time, but it's never been too high on our priority list.  Until now.  After making some smart money decisions (and Matt getting $200 OFF the price of the shed), we finally broke down and got one.  It came in a creamy color that we knew would have to be painted grey to match our house.  One afternoon while Matt still had some stuff to do out other, I took LL outside with her finger paints to help Daddy "paint" the shed.

The good thing about the finger paints is that they're washable, so we didn't have to worry about it making the shed look funky on one side.  I put her in a combination of play clothes/pajamas, gave her a paint brush, squirted finger paints on a plate, and let her go to town. She painted for a LONG time and had SO MUCH FUN!

She had so much fun!

I think she could totally make money doing this.  ;)

This is one of my new favorite pics of them.

The finished product!

I love that the weather has been pretty enough (and not too crazy hot yet!) for us to spend time outside doing fun stuff like this.  More than anything, I loved just watching LL have fun and be creative!
