4th of July: Fireworks Edition

This is the last of my 4th of July posts, I promise!  My mom (Gigi) decided to have a big 4th party at her house (well, not big.  But big for her - haha) so we pretty much spent the whole day over there.  We swam, ate, played inside, and swam some more.  We just really had a good time!  I did take LL home for nap time (vs. trying to get her to nap over there) because she refused to nap at my dad's house the day before, and I was NOT going to let that happen again.  Sometimes you have to sacrifice to keep your kid on their schedule.

After dinner, we went out back to do some fireworks.  Now, I really use the term "fireworks" very loosely here.  Matt wanted to get the huge ones, but I reminded him that we were going to be in the middle of the city (not at our  house in the middle of nowhere) and there were going to be two toddlers there.  This means that we got the toddler package of fireworks - haha.  We also had to do them while it was still daylight (duh!  it doesn't get dark until after 9!  I was totally not going to keep LL up that late!), and my sister wanted to hit the road with Ben as soon after dinner as possible.

I'm totally about to post a crazy amount of pictures, but LL's expressions with the fireworks was just so cute!  Enjoy!

Poor Ben was SOOO tired from a long weekend.  He just didn't understand what all of the fuss was about.

Ugh - PLEASE keep in mind that we had been swimming all day!!  I was not gonna get all cute just to keep getting in and out of the pool!
