Vacation, Here We Come!

Matt and I had been looking forward to going to Atlanta over my Spring Break for a while. We knew that it would happen right around Lorelai's two-month birthday, so we hoped she'd do okay. We decided to leave for Atlanta on Saturday morning, instead of Friday afternoon. Lorelai HATES to be in the car at night, so we knew that we'd have an even longer ride up there if we tried to travel at night. Plus, we've gotten her on a great schedule now, and traveling at night would mess up her bath time and bed time. Lorelai did so well traveling! It took us 5 1/2 hours to get up there (ugh!) because we had to stop once to feed her and traffic on the interstate was stop-and-go for about an hour (of course, this is Atlanta). She never made a peep the entire time! We woke her up to feed her and then she went right back to sleep in her car seat.

Snuggling in the bed because it was COLD!
Saturday evening we took a trip to Babies R Us and bought her a mobile for her crib. Sunday (her two month birthday!) we went to get our picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
Monday we went and ate lunch with Aunt Laura at her work. We also left Lorelai with Aunt Laura and Uncle Gino in the evening so that Matt and I could go on a date to Red Robbin (yum!). I think that it stressed Laura out a little, but it was good practice considering that Meatball will be here in 4 months! We were originally going to come home Wednesday morning, but Gino was sick with pneumonia, so we decided to cut our trip short. We didn't want to risk any of us getting sick and Gino needed to rest. I know how hard it is to do that when you have company in the house. It took us 4 1/2 hours to get home because, again, we had to stop to feed her. But, again, she never made a peep! She either slept or stared out of the window!

Snuggling with Mommy while Daddy and Uncle Gino play on the playstation.
It was stressful to get her out of the house for a few days, but all-in-all, she did really well on her first vacation!
